"Years ago I gave a friend of mine some tulip bulbs. I wanted her to be surprised so I snuck them into her overnight bag. A few days had passed and I gave her a call. I asked if she had found her tulips. Her reply was "Oh, I though those were onions, I put them in my onion drawer." We both cracked up, laughing about how she was going to make French onion soup with tulips from Holland (and about her poor husband). As we hung up, I reminded her jokingly,

"Don't forget, the green end goes up!"

Robin Robinette Di Iorio:
Founder, former designer

Robin's interest in gardening started later in life, a past-time turned business while raising her two daughters, Devon and Tess.In 1996, Robin decided to name her business The Green End Goes Up. Her creative mind, love for pushing boundaries in container design, truly made her an inspiration.

Devon Di Iorio: Owner and designer

Devon spent many of her high school and college years working on and off as a laborer and designer for TGEGU. Her love for the outdoors led her to pursue a degree in Biology and environmental science at Augustana College in Illinois. However, as an artist at heart, she enjoys combining both of her interests in her work as a designer.
